I've never used a LOMO KOMPAKT AVTOMAT or a Lomo 35, but I can tell you that the Lomo 8m is quite a remarkable fully manual camera with a surprizingly sharp glass lens. Easily worth the ~$15 I paid for it. And a real creative breath of fresh air in this age of expensive auto-everything cameras.
: A recent market survey showed that the young consumer market
(high school) liked disposable and toy cameras a lot. The
immediate reaction was the lomo craze into the US.
: Marketing is a wonderful tool that has made a lousy camera into
an artist's tool. Great!
: At least we will have more people taking pictures, and
eventually, maybe, interested in true photography.
C'mon, now. Don't be such a snob. A lot of those Lomo shots are about as true photography as it gets.
