Hello, this is my first time posting on this board, so please bare with me. I have recently become interested in photography as a serious hobby, and am wondering, is the Pentax ZX-M a good choice for me? I know that it is manual focus, I prefer that over auto, and am very attracted to the price (Only 130$ for the body.) Is there anything I should know about this camera, or are there any other new manual focus/auto exposure cameras in the same price range that are better? The only thing I am wary of is this weight, which is only 10.8g. Does that mean that the camera is not made well? Will it end up cracking when I mount a new lens on it? The only other SLR camera I have ever used is an old, completely manual Kalimar from the 1970's, but it needs a new light meter, and dont want to buy a meter when I can just buy a whole new camera for only 130$, and a semi-auto one at that. I am mostly interested in something that is manual focus, and aperture and shutter priority, but full auto would be nice as well. Would the Pentax ZX-M be a wise investment? How is the lens compatability on it?
