: Any comments re:
: Comparisons of Nikon 8008 and N-70 regarding compatibility of
current vs. older AF lenses, battery type and consumption,
durability, AF accurracy and speed? Is it worth trading-up to
N-70 or is the N-100 a better camera to wait for? Thanks for your
advise...
I would always recommend the Nikon 8008s over the N70, due to
some important facts:
The 8008s has a full die cast chasis, not the N70.
The 8008s was the AF pro model before the advent of the F4s.
The N70 is a consumer model.
As for compatability of lenses, they all are.
The manual lenses will have to be focused on manual setting
and on aperture priority shutter mode but they will function
great.
The D lenses will work just fine since they were designed
precisely for
that camera. Same with the ED and so on.
As for "slow Auto Focus" I don not think I ever
prevented me from
taking sports pictures anywhere, any time.
I have now a F4s, moving into F5 but believe me, I miss my 8008s.
Have a great time
JRP
