: If anyone has come across this problem where the camera
works fine in manual mode and thru the lens metering and led's
work fine but when you turn the f/stop to auto on the lens, it
shows EEEEEEEEE

No. I have never come accross that problem.
However "E" most likely stands for "Exposure"
Five "E"'s probably mean "I really cannot take the
picture like this".
Fronm the symptoms, I would guess that you should check on the
batteries, probably there is enough energy for light measuring
but not enough to turn the diafragm on the lens to make the shot.
Wish you had your manual. (I know, I always either mispalced them
or even thrown them away).
I f you cannot find a manual at hand (a friendly camera store or
a friend with the same camera), look up for a new one at Craig
Camera

Have a great time
