and try for Photography History.
I think you will be very pleasantly surprised of the many links
available.
One that has been useful to me in particular is:
http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/hpg.html
an international directory of photography history where they
direct you directly to your area of interest.
The question is very appropiate.
What would we do without a focusing ring on lenses?
Another place to look would be of course the Carl Zeiss site.
