: I purchased a "demo" Minolta Macro Flash 1200AF-N (a ring flash) without a manual for my Nikon N70. When I test the flash unit I get a nice bright flash. When it is on attached to the hot shoe, the flash is dramatically less...basically useless!
: When I place the unit on my old manual Ricoh, it works fine...nice and bright.
: I know that I need to get the directions, but short of that, any suggestions or useful information around on what I might be doing wrong?
Probably you are not doing anything wrong.
The Nikon N70 may already copensating for the very short
distances or range for macro photography.
Take some picture on both cameras and see the results.
Have a great time.
