This really depends on how much sentimental value you attach to that camera. It can probably be cleaned and repaired but the costs will exceed $100. Camera repair is very expensive, with labor costs exceeding $60 an hour. Ask Essex Camera in New Jersey for a quote. You'll find them listed in our Repair Index. The link is below.

Personally I would recommend against it and suggest you purchase a more recent manual 35mm camera, such as a used Pentax K-1000 or the just recently discontinued Ricoh KR-5.
