: The name of this lens is "Underground"
"Underground" was a small store in Boston which was totally in a basement , hence the name.

: I had also thought about pentax screw lenses but am not sure if they are M42 compatible?
Pentax screw mts are M42.

This lens in question I would say was an Olympus mount. From the rear view there are what looks like the two buttons on an Olympus lens At 5 o'clock and at 10 o'clock. One is the lens release and the other is the Depth of Field . Somewhere on the lens should be the letters "O M " to designate this is for an Olympus camera
