: I am trying to remove the top on a Minolta Hi-matic 7s in order to clean the viewfinder. I have the two screws out but how do you remove the rewind handle? Once this is off I believe the top will lift off
Hi Patrick,
I'm not a real camera repair person, I only play one on TV but
try this if you don't see any other means of removal. Keep the
shaft from spinning by locking it in place with a screwdriver
shaft in the bottom where it engages the film cartridge then just
unscrew it. You really should buy a manual. And on the cleaning
part >> don't over do it! You can remove the silvering or
the bright lines unless careful. Q-tip damp with Windex and clean
once in a twirling motion. Throw it away and use another. And
another.
Good luck .. remember, it's only a guess that it comes off that way!
