: I recently purchased a Super Albinar mc Auto Zoom
: f=80-205mm lens for my olympus OM10 camera. The lens focuses
but will not zoom. I'm afraid that maybe this lens will not work
with my camera. Is this true? please help anyone!
Okay, first it is entirely possible that Albinar (when they existed) made a zoom lens which would fit a manual focus Olympus OM10. I don't know this for a fact, but Albinar was a third party manufacturer of moderately priced lenses until the early 1990's. The company no longer exists.
What made you think the lens is designed to fit your camera? Is it marked Olympus mount? Does it indeed easily mount on your camera? This is a manual focus zoom lens, correct? (An autofocus zoom lens will not work on the OM10.)
You just don't provide enough information. My guess is, given the age of the lens, it could need repair - almost impossible to obtain for Albinar lenses. Only one camera repair shop in the US has the remaining Albinar parts stock, Photo Tech in New York City. The truth is the Albinar lenses are not worth repairing.
If you bought the lens with a limited warranty, take it back.
