First, make sure you have the right software. If you are in the United Kingdom, I have received information the wrong software was being distributed with Praktica digital cameras last year. Second, go to google.com and enter the search term Praktica D500. I did that and the first link was to another owner of the same camera ( http://www.custodian.com/album/ ) - send them email (address at bottom of page) and ask for advice. Be resourceful. The best source of information is someone else who owns the same piece of camera equipment.
Additionally your Praktica D500 has been sold under a variety of brand names; the Jenoptik JD11 and Samsung DC100 are the same digital camera.
