Hi Was this color film or B&W? I know if the chemistry is too hot in B&W you can increase your grain or if you dont have your ASA set correctly on the camera and you shoot it higher than it was ment to be, it will increase the grain on your film. But as far as the battery being low that would just give you underexposed photos with no flash. Good luck, Brian
